There is the Welfare for the aged Center Hyoryung in Bukgu Gwanju.
The building has long passageway that connects the 1st floor to the 2nd floor and it used to be white and desolate.
The mural painters of Scj volunteers in Gwangju newly did it over for 3days (last from 25th to 27th) and presented to the Center.
They painted the mural on the subject of 'when I was young' and it is composed of remembrances of hometown such as the thatched roofs, hills, and catching insects etc.
Those were enough to make the aged feel hometown homesickness.
The aged gave a sweet smile in front of the mural.
The old who go by there used to stop walking to see the mural.
They said that those pictures recalled childhood memories and the aged felt better so long as they came there.
Team leader I-Soon Hyoryung Center thanked Scj volunteers for their sincerity and keeping complete promise.
Last June Hanam apartment complex and Chummdan Community child Center were done over with murals by recomendation and support of Gwangsan District Community Service Center.
Also last April they painted murals in Namgu Bangrimdong.
Scj volunteers take the lead in decorating villages through painting murals.
