"The program, MBC PD note, and the conversion minister make my husband enemy"

Thanks for receiving your damage case, and we changed some words that reveals casualties' privacy for preventing persecution. Also, we used nickname in stead of their real names.
The purpose of issuing this damage case is for that we don't want to happen beating, confinement, outrage, leaving home, giving up their school, divorce, and, disruption of family any more in Korea because of the differences of religious thoughts, and we also want to announce illegal convertors' behavior for their profit in the name of illegal converting education on religion.

From when I attend to Shinchonji Church my husband and the family of my husband already knew that I am the member of Shinchonji Church, but they didn't have any problem and complain. However, on 2007. May. 08 after they watched the TV program, MBC PD note, my husband changed his thought and behavior and made me not to attend to Shinchonji Church. Finally, he didn't make me block it, and he gave up.

He works on a business and manages his own orchard, but one day he told me to go to the orchard. However, the place where my husband took me was not his orchard but other place. It was the place around my husband's brother's orchard, where a few people live. They tempted me to the place, and before went in there, my husband said that he had no more battery, so just borrow him my cellular phone. when I went in there, it was cleaned everything. Then, my husband's two sisters came out, and I was arrested immedietely.

Few days later, the priest of D Church and K came with two other deacons, and they started the religion conversion education without my opinion. They assisted that what Shinchonji taught before was totally wrong and when I went to Shinchonji, it made my family break up. They didn't hesitate non-proved words and personal abuse.

I couldn't listen what the priest who forced to manage religion conversion education said, so I said several times to stop but they ignored my words such as echo. The bad words for Shinchonji of converting priest seemed to convert not me but my family. They assured that if I took the religion conversion education for only three days, I should be converted, so forced me to take obviously. My husband didn't listen and follow what I said, but just listen and follow what converting priest said. As a result, my husband said he would take me to home after taking the religion conversion education for three days, and forced me to take it well.

On the second day of religion conversion education period, one person who managed religion conversion education in Gwang-ju came to me, and on the next day, two more priests from presbyterian church in Yeo-su came also, and forced me to take religion conversion education without my opinion. I seemed to be like monkey in the zoo, and was afraid and trembled. I was not existed at that time any more. My husband and two sisters of my husband monitored for whole day, and they locked not only all doors but also windows from outside to prevent running away. They allowed to use only main front door. However, that door was not for me also. When I said that I was so stuffy that I wanted to go out, they didn't allow to go out only for few minutes. Therefore I had to make them to be at ease not running away and pleased several times to them to go out, so it was really hard and tiring.

It I resisted to take religion conversion education, the converting priest asked to my husband how he would do. Then, my husband said the vacation period was left only few days, so he asked for hurrying up to finish it within the period. The converting priest said the most important right now was not your business but your family, so he said to my husband to quit my husband's business and to make me take the religion conversion education. After my husband listened from what the converting priest said, he decided to quit his business, and the priest threatened that my husband would live forever in this forest till I was converted from that education.

My husband was getting changed because of converting priest's word that he had to protect his family first, and he was not my husband anymore. How is this the right way to protect our family? The converting priest was a family breaker, and tried to make an effort to convert only no matter how his family was. I could not endure this situation, so decided to escape from here to protect our family. However, it was not easy way. I couldn't get out off their monitoring.

After all they slept, if I tried to get out off there, I was caught again and again. It was the terrible fight for me, and my family members and my husband were enemy. They were not my side anymore.

In this society where the religion freedom was respected nowadays, the religion conversion education was made by their own right, and the human right and religion freedom were ignored. The converting priest who made my lovely family become enemy, imprison, and force to doing religion conversion education was not the figure of the priest anymore. The hours, minutes, and seconds when I was arrested seemed to be a thousand year, and it was really hard time for me. When I remembered at that time until now, I felt hurt.

I wrote this letter for sending my mind and thought thinking all of Shinchonji members who were in the same situation and same experience like me.
