held, which was broadcasted over 47 locations in S. Korea)
The
fever of Shinchonji Bible conference was spread all around S. Korea. On
September 26th and 27th, Shinchonji Bible conference was
lead by the chairman of the Shinchonji and gathered great attention among S.
Korean Christians. Accordingly, main S. Korean web portal sites such as NATE
and NAVER had reported that ‘Shinchonji Bible Conference’ was the most searched
word on their sites on 26th and 27th. Also, other big web
portal sites such as DAUM reported that ‘Shinchonji Bible Conference’ was
ranked in top 10 search words.
With
its slogan ‘Come and check the word of God, the truth! ,’ Shinchonji Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shinchonji) has been publicized itself and finally held the Shinchonji
Bible Conference at Jamsil Student’s Stadium in Seoul.
On
September 26th, the stadium was crowded with people came from other churches
who are estimated to be around 15,000 people. Due to the lack of seats in the
stadium, members of Shinchonji had to go outside to watch the conference, where
big screens on trucks have been prepared for people who couldn’t get seats
inside. Also, Shinchonji had provided its live broadcasting service to 47
locations around the nation and its service have gathered a flood of people
trying to connect, which lead its servers crashed one time.
Pastor
Choi Young Il prayed at the beginning of the conference, saying, “Please stop
trying to cover your ears to refuse the word of God. Now, it’s time to pursue
the Bible, the word of God.”
During
the first period of the conference, with its topic ‘the second coming of Jesus
Christ and the signal at the last time,’ the chair of Shinchonji precisely
explained the concepts of ‘the last day’ and ‘the end of the world’ to pastors
and Christians based on the Bible. During the conference, people who conceded with
what chair said clapped their hands with smiles and there were people who asked
questions in their mind.
Even
after 2 o’clock, when the conference ended, many people did not go back to
their home. Some prayed and shed tears of repentance and others danced with the
rhythm of a hymn.
Mr.
Park Dae Ik(51) from Joongu, Seoul, said, “ I came here because I was curious
about the truth in Christianity. I was surprised. Before I came here, there was
nowhere to ask questions in the Bible that I was curious about. But after I
participated in this conference, it just surprised me.”
The
Shinchonji Bible Conference on 26th was held with topics such as
‘the second coming of Jesus Christ and the signal at the last time’, ‘metaphor
of seeds and harvest.’ On 27th, its topics will be ‘the tree of life
and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil’, ‘Revelation and faith.’ The conference
at 7pm will be lead by Mr. Lee Man Hee who is the chair of Shinchonji. At 2pm,
lecturer Mr. Yoo Young Joo will lead the conference.
